Basic Information of CNC Machine Tools

Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machine tool is an automated machine system controlled by computers. It adopts numerical control system to govern the movement of mechanical equipment such as milling machines, lathes and cutting machines, and performs machining operations according to pre-programmed procedures. Compared with traditional manual operation, CNC machine tools feature higher precision, efficiency and automation level.

  • Encoders & Sensors: Measure the position and speed of each axis, feed actual operating data back to the system to secure stable and precise machining.
  • Servo System: Made up of servo motors, drivers and feedback units. It converts control commands into mechanical motion for accurate positioning and speed regulation.
  • Human-Machine Interface: Interaction devices including control panel, touch screen, keyboard and display for parameter setting and operation monitoring.

Working Principle

The CNC system generates and transmits machining programs, driving tools to cut, drill and mill workpieces along preset paths. By controlling the spindle and X, Y, Z axis movements, the system adjusts tool travel and cutting depth to accomplish high-precision and complex machining tasks.

Application
